Wenn Ende des Monats, Hartz IV Empfänger ihre Kohle bekommen, und sich ellenlange Schlangen, an sämtlichen EC-Automaten in der Stadt bilden, an denen man bestimmt ne halbe Stunde anstehen muss; und sich der Tankwart drüber aufregt, dass man mit nem 50€ Schein bezahlen will, weil man schon der 5. in Folge ist, dann nennt man das den Hartz IV Tag.
Schön zu beobachten ist auch, (jedenfalls hier in Neukölln) wer alles in diesen Reihen steht. Und auch, dass sobald sie ihr Geld haben, sie erst mal zu Mc Donalds rennen, dass es fast aus den Nähten platzt!

🇬🇧 At the end of the month, when Hartz IV recipients receive their money, long lines form at all the ATMs in the city, where you have to wait at least half an hour; and the gas station attendant gets annoyed when someone wants to pay with a €50 bill because they are already the fifth person in a row to do so, this is referred to as Hartz IV Day.
It is also interesting to observe (at least here in Neukölln) who is standing in these lines. And as soon as they have their money, they first rush to McDonald's, which is almost bursting at the seams! (Observed in the Neukölln Arkaden shopping center)
