Der Spruch passt grundsätzlich zu jedweder Situation des passiven Aussitzens. Sei es ein Einzelner mit "Kopf im Sand", oder seien es zwei bzw. mehrere Personen, die mehr oder weniger bewusst in stillschweigendem Wettbewerb zueinander hoffen, der andere/die anderen mögen tätig werden.
Könnte insbesondere angebracht werden, wenn jemand permanent betriebsblind über liegengebliebene Arbeit steigt, z.B. die leeren Pizzakartons der letzten drei Monate ignoriert und sich lieber bräsig auf dem Sofa lümmelt.
Indes ist oft nur scheinbar Verlierer, der das Elend nicht mehr erträgt; sich regen bringt Segen. Muss ja nicht gleich in wildem Aktionismus ausarten...
Else: "Hömma, ich will dich ja nicht aus der Statik bringen, aber bist du Weltmeister im Verdrängen oder peilst du einfach nicht, dass der Mülleimer wächst!?"
Couch-Potatot: "Hä, was'n? Geht grad' nich', ich guck' Bauer sucht Sau..."
Else: "Alles klar, wer sich zuerst bewegt, hat verlor'n - ich zieh dann mal die Arschkarte..."
🇬🇧 The saying generally applies to any situation of passive waiting it out. Whether it's an individual with their "head in the sand," or two or more people who are more or less consciously hoping in silent competition that the other(s) will take action.
It could be particularly relevant when someone is consistently oblivious to neglected work, for example, ignoring the empty pizza boxes from the last three months and instead lounging lazily on the sofa.
However, often only the one who can no longer bear the misery appears to be the loser; taking action brings blessings. It doesn't have to lead to wild activism right away...
