Benny Duracell
Duracell wurde in den 1970ern noch als die "Kraftquelle mit dem Kupferkopf" beworben... was lag näher als Rothaarige als "Benny Duracell" zu bezeichnen? woher das "Benny" kam ist nicht sicher belegt - könnte eine Verballhornung von "Bunny" sein - der (rosa) Duracell-Hase war das Maskottchen der Marke. der Namensträger an unserer Schule war durchtrainiert (Sport Leistungskurs) - also ein "Kraftpaket" - und hieß auch noch (zufällig?) Bernhard...

so it was only natural to refer to redheads as "Benny Duracell."
The origin of the "Benny" is not clearly documented - it could be a play on "Bunny" - the (pink) Duracell bunny was the brand's mascot.
The namesake at our school was athletic (sports performance course) - so a "powerhouse" - and his name happened to be Bernhard...
