Neben der Verwendung auf Glückwunschkarten wurden später auch sehr viele Puppen, Poster & zahlreiche andere Produkte durch Lizenznehmer vermarktet. Although it is considered a type of Anglicism, it originates from the French word franchise ("exemption," from the French franc, "free").
