Teuro
Nach der Einführung des Euros wurden die Löhne faktisch halbiert, die Sozialleistungen zusammengestrichen und die Preise im Vergleich zu DM-Zeiten faktisch verdoppelt. Daher wird der Euro auch Teuro genannt. Während man zu DM-Zeiten für eine Schachtel Zigaretten zw. 4 und 5 DM zahlte, zahlt man jetzt für eine solche 4 - 5 Euro. 1 Euro ist ca. 1,95572 DM also grob 2 DM. Da die Löhne nicht 1:1 umgerechnet wurden, ist das natürlich ziemlich teuer.

Therefore, the Euro is also referred to as Teuro. While one used to pay between 4 and 5 DM for a pack of cigarettes, one now pays 4 to 5 Euros for the same. 1 Euro is approximately 1.95572 DM, so roughly 2 DM.
