Pflaumenstöfchen
Zu Zeiten als es noch keine Thermoskannen gab und man eine Möglichkeit suchte um seinen Kaffee oder Tee warm zu halten,so wurden die Kannen auf ein kleines Podest (meist aus Porzellan oder Metall) gestellt wo sich eine kleine Kerze drunter befand.damit hielt man (auch heute noch ab und zu)die Kanne und deren Inhalt eine zeitlang warm. So ein Gestell nannte man Stöfchen.soweit so gut. Ein Pflaumenstöfchen ist nichts anderes nur das man (frau) darauf sitzt.in der regel wird damit eine Sitzheizung oder ein einfaches Heizkissen betitelt.
🇬🇧 In times when there were no thermos flasks and people were looking for a way to keep their coffee or tea warm, the pots were placed on a small pedestal (usually made of porcelain or metal) where a small candle was located underneath. This kept the pot and its contents warm for a while (and is still done occasionally today). Such a stand was called a Stöfchen. So far, so good. A Pflaumenstöfchen is nothing more than something one sits on. Typically, it refers to a seat heater or a simple heating pad.
