Desweiteren lässt sich vermuten, dass es zwei Ortschaften dieses Namens "gibt", da Dummsdorf vor der Wende in beiden deutschen Staaten im Sprachgebrauch erwähnt wurde.
Jemand, der ausdrücken will, dass er oder jemand Anderes nicht dumm ist, drückt dies u. U. dadurch aus, dass wer sagt, er oder die andere Person käme nicht von dort.
Interessanterweise gibt es im Russischen etwas Ähnliches, nämlich "Durakowo", was übersetzt Blödingen, Trottelhausen, Deppstadt oder eben Dummsdorf bedeutet.

It seems to be a remote, likely agricultural village that appears to be inhabited by inbred farmers. Furthermore, it can be assumed that there are two places with this name, as Dummsdorf was mentioned in the vernacular in both German states before the reunification.
Someone who wants to express that he or someone else is not stupid may do so by stating that he or the other person does not come from there.
