Grundsätzlich steht der Baum für die Hoffnung, dass das Leben irgendwie weitergehen würde - mit oder ohne Menschen - egal was auch immer kommen mag...
"Welt" steht für mich ohnehin nur für die menschliche Gesellschaft, somit für ein künstliches Konstrukt.
zweifellos haben wir die Wahl, entweder gleich den ganzen Planeten komplett unbewohnbar zu machen oder nur die profitorientierten Gesellschaften derart zu reformieren, dass das einem "Weltende" gleichkommt...
Illustrationen der Sündenphallsgeschichte stellen die Frucht vom Baum der Erkenntnis gerne als Apfel dar...

For me, "world" only stands for human society, thus for an artificial construct.
Undoubtedly, we have the choice to either make the entire planet completely uninhabitable or to reform only the profit-oriented societies in such a way that it amounts to an "end of the world"...
