böse Menschen würden gar behaupten, so jemand spiele falsch, also "nicht regelkonform", ergo "ehrlos"...

🇬🇧 Someone who has an ace up their sleeve does not "play with open cards," meaning they are "not entirely honest"... (this may sometimes not be necessary, or it can be quite legitimate, for example in business negotiations...)
Malicious people would even claim that such a person plays unfairly, thus "not according to the rules," and therefore is "dishonorable"...
